Meet Deena

Hello! I’m Deena Noroian, founder and voice coach at Sing Bend.

I’ve been a professional singer and performer for more than 30 years and a voice coach for over 15. I started Sing Bend in 2013 to help people understand how their voice actually works so they can stop fighting with it and start singing with more freedom, confidence, strength, and joy.

And you do not have to be a professional—or even think you’re a “good” singer—to start exploring what your voice can do.

I grew up in Southern California and began working professionally as a singer shortly after graduating from Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. Since then, I’ve toured the country as a lead singer and songwriter, worked as a studio vocalist, recorded for television, radio, and film, and performed on stages in front of thousands of people.

I’ve also performed as a giant bunch of purple grapes at the L.A. County Fair. A singing career will keep you humble.

I moved to Bend in 2010 and founded Sing Bend in 2013. Since then, I’ve worked with singers throughout Central Oregon—from complete beginners and self-described “non-singers” to working performers, singer-songwriters, and musical theater performers.

My approach treats the voice as a living, physical instrument. We work with the diaphragm, tension, range, volume, endurance, confidence, and the mental habits that can make singing harder than it needs to be. The goal isn’t to turn you into somebody else’s idea of a singer, but rather to help you understand your instrument and learn how to use it – so you can be you.

My work with the voice has also taken me beyond private coaching. I created Public (ROCK) Choir in 2016, now celebrating 10 years of singing faces off in Central Oregon and going strong. I also continued my work as a songwriter and composed the music and lyrics for VOICELESS: A Musical, which premiered in Bend in 2025, and I’m the author of LOUD: The Voice That Cures Everything.

Through my company VOICE UP, I also work with professionals who rely on their speaking voices, bringing the same understanding of the physical voice, diaphragm, and confidence into the executive world of communication and public speaking. But here at Sing Bend, it comes back to the incredibly human act of singing.

Whether you want to strengthen your voice, expand your range, stop straining, prepare for a performance, build confidence, or finally find out what your voice can actually do and sound like, I’d love to work with you.

Singing is one of the best parts of being alive. You might as well do it LOUD.

With love and loudness,
Deena

What if everything you were taught about your voice was wrong? LOUD: The Voice That Cures Everything explores the connection between your voice, your diaphragm, your body, your brain, and your confidence—and why singing, regardless of talent or training, may be one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Part memoir, part vocal education, and part manifesto, LOUD takes the approach, ideas, and techniques behind Deena’s work at Sing Bend far beyond the voice studio.
